WWII "STANELY" Field Compass MKIII 1941 (0208)
Info
On the lid marked with "STANELY- LONDON MK III 1941". "STANELY" seems quite strange ... (fake ?).
The compass dial seems to be made from aluminium, the other parts are brass.
On one side, a viewer that can be rotated and lifted. Also with 2 colored glassses for filtering light? (Yellow and Green). On the other side, a pointer and a mirror that can be slided and rotated.
On the bottom, there is a threaded hole for a tripod or alike.
When the visual pointer is lowered for storing, the compass dial is automatically blocked by a lever.
Inscriptions on lid top:
No 1246
Inscriptions on lid side:
STANELY- LONDON
MK III
1941
