Night Watchman Clock (0262)

Index: 0262

Year: Ca 1900 ?

Maker: ? , German?

Dimensions: 14 x 10 x 4 cm

Info

Watchmakers clock made in brass. Inside there are 7 levers with a small stamp. I assume that each watchman had his own key, and by means of the key, one or several levers are pushed upwards against the rotating paper disc. The corresponding number (1 to 6) would then be visible on the paper, as such marking the passing by of the nightwatch. The bottom punch lever only makes a mark on the disc.

No inscriptions except for the serial no 160453. This serial no is stamped on the inside of the lid and also on the part where the clock is attached to the wall or alike. Assume this is to make sure nobody separates the clock from its hanger :-)

There is some kind of clock makers logo stamped/etched on the back of the mechanism, but no idea of maker.
