Pressure Registration Barograph (0097)

Index: 0097

Year: Around 1900's ?

Maker: Richard Freres, Paris

Dimensions: 29 x 18 x 15 cm

Info

Registration barometer/pressure gauge.

The air/gas input to measure is through the botton on a threaded hole. The range is unknown, but when opened to ambient air, the needle is fully down which would indicate that the minimu range would be higher then athmospheric pressure.

Except for the pressure tube which is made out of red copper, everything is made from brass. The case seems to be mahogany.

Winding of the clock mechanism is done on the inside top of the paper carrier drum.

Not sure what the drum surface speed is, but quite slow. First guess would be something like a week.

This barometer used a single pressure tube instead of the more common metal aneroid cell types.
