Special to this thermometer is the horizontal layout. According to the included leaflet, this avois having to use magnets to reset the min-max values. To reset, one had to turn the thermometer anti-clockwise to make the indicators return to the mercury level. To this reason, a mount is attached so this could be done while hanging on the wall.
